Artist's Bio

I fell in love with creating custom art in 1994 when I began designing for ME Productions, a leading player in the special events industry in Florida. While there, I had the joy of creating sets, staging and decor for themed events of all sizes, from small local weddings to global incentive meetings for fortune 500 companies. Together with the art team, we transformed every square inch of countless ballrooms into Caribbean pirate hideaways, underwater kingdoms, and fantasy environments of every kind.

LisaMarieUpon returning to my native New York, I decided to start my own specialty painting business called Brushworks. Since that time, I have had the pleasure of accumulating a body of work that includes faux finishes, custom designed murals and hand-painted furniture for private homes, popular restaurants, architects and builders.  I love what I do, not just because of the absolute pleasure it gives me, but also because it awards me the opportunity to meet and work with such interesting people, and create pieces that enhance their lives artistically and aesthetically. Nothing can compete with the joy of bringing a smile to a client's face or knowing that I've been able to make their house feel a little more like home. In such a fast-paced, impersonal world, I am motivated by having a chance to build relationships with my clients and create custom pieces that reflect who they really are. Murals and faux finishes create havens for them. My custom painted furniture pieces become treasured heirlooms that will last for several generations.

My designs have been featured in Northern Westchester Hospital, where I worked as artist and designer on a Junior League project in the hospital's Pediatric Wing. Our goal was to transform the plain white walls into a bright, inspiring circus theme, giving the children a more uplifting, comforting and motivational environment in which to recuperate. Over 80 volunteers painted over 30 of my beginner-friendly mural designs. It was a heartwarming experience. This project, and my artwork there, has been featured in Westchester County Business Journal, North County News and Westchester Family magazine.

My clients know me best as an artist who balances a love of art, whimsy and magic with a strong commitment to professionalism. I take pride in creating custom painted works of art, but also in the way that work is accomplished. I have assumed a personal interest in every project I've taken in the past, and look forward to any and all new ones in the future. I look forward to hearing from you!

"Over the last 8 years, LisaMarie has painted every room in my house; I won't have anyone else do it. Besides being extremely creative and talented in her work, Lisa has another, equally important talent; She relates well to people; both professionally and personally; she seems to instinctively know how to connect her designs to colors and paint techniques that will work beautifully for them. For custom orders, LisaMarie looks at the room and decor, listens to her clients, and then makes several samples from which to choose, all of which would be perfect!"

"When I moved into my new home in Chappaqua, all my walls were painted Navajo White. The decorator working at my development recommended Lisa. It was "love at first meet." Lisa is an engaging, delightful, energetic, talented, artistic, empathetic, honest, amazing individual. She was able to take my visions and translate them into masterpieces. She has always been a trustworthy individual, and I was able to hand over my key and know that when I returned home... I would be
thrilled. Each time I had a new "plan," Lisa was able to create exactly what I was looking for. Her eye for color is impeccable, and her plans are precise. In addition to many rooms in my home, Lisa also painted several chairs for me, and each one was incredible. Two were whimsical ones for my fiance's grandchildren, and one was to match an antique desk in my living room. The results... absolute masterpieces!!! I would highly recommend Lisa for her talent and for the wonderful person she is."
