Artist's Bio

Ordering is easy

Creating your work of art is simple - and remember, if you need guidance at any time I am more than happy to walk you through the process and/or offer suggestions.

Special Orders: If you would like to create a mural, custom painting, faux or decorative finish, or piece of furniture that matches your existing room décor closely, you may request a special order. Simply call or email with your request and I will walk you through the process.  By supplying me with samples of wallpaper, fabric, an illustration or paint I can create a design that coordinates with those existing elements.

Special orders are welcome and truly add to an existing room or living space's "finished" look. Please note that, due to extra work and time involved, custom designs may take slightly longer to complete and will incur a corresponding price adjustment. Simply email your request and I will walk you through the process.

Standard Orders: Place a standard order when you are ordering a canvas painting or piece of furniture that will be designed at my discretion.  Standard orders include your choice of two base colors for your piece, where applicable (one dominant and one accent color), and a unique design created for you by LisaMarie. You will be asked to choose the overall theme (Some examples would include: zoo animals, outer space, trains, harlequin diamonds, etc.).
Simply follow the steps below;

Step one:

Choose your piece/surface to be painted. For furniture you may:

  • choose a piece you already own
  • order it from an unfinished wood store/supplier by you
  • allow us to order it from one of our suppliers

Please note that we do not strip furniture. However, we are happy to sand it moderately and re-paint it according to our usual procedures. We generally use a minimum of three coats of water-based polyurethane to protect and seal your custom-painted piece.

You may either send your piece to us directly, or we can pick it up at a location within a 60 mile radius of Carmel, NY, for an additional fee. The same applies for delivery.  This radius covers many areas in New York's Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties, Manhattan, and Connecticut's Fairield and Litchfield Counties.

We will be happy to paint over any solid wood surface with the exception of naturally oily woods, such as teak, rosewood or ebony.

Step two:

Choose the colors you would like us to use. (Two are included  in your standard price, one dominant color and one accent color). You may visit Benjamin Moore Paints web site to select the colors I will use as a guide.

Step three:

Select a theme or overall design (For example: Butterflies, baseballs, zoo animals, circus, dragons, etc.) We'd be happy to offer suggestions or ideas, should you need assistance.

Step four:

Contact me via phone or email so we can discuss your ideas and my suggestions.  I will advise you to email or mail your choices to me, along with your check, so I can begin creating your custom painted piece.

Prices vary depending on the size and type of piece to be painted, as well as on the complexity of the design requested.  However, designs can be tailored to suit your budget.

Term of Purchase

For small pieces; payment is required, in full, before work can commence. For larger pieces, murals and faux finishes, a 50% deposit is required to begin your custom work.   The balance would be due after the work is completed and prior to shipping or delivery if applicable. When your initial payment is received an order confirmation will be sent to you, for your review and written approval. Please review your confirmation carefully as we will use it as a guide to create your piece. We apologize, but once production begins on an order no changes can be made and no refunds issued.

Production Time

Normal lead time is 8-12 weeks from the date the deposit is received. However, some items can be created in a timelier fashion if the piece is in stock or if my schedule will allow. Please contact us if  you require your piece sooner, and I will let you know if that will be possible.

Paints Used

We use premium, water-based, latex paints for our bases and artists' acrylics for the design work. All work is protected with a minimum of three coats of water-based polyurethane. We also apply glazes and/or age them. This results in a look that is slightly color-washed. If you would prefer solid colors without this artistic flair, please let us know before ordering.

Paintings, prints and smaller furniture pieces will be shipped via the United States Post Office or local courier.  Larger furniture pieces may be picked up, by you, at my studio in Carmel, NY, or delivered to any location within a 60 mile radius of Carmel, NY for a fee of $50 - $100. (This includes, but is not limited to, most areas in New York's Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties, Connecticut's Fairfield and Litchfield Counties, and Manhattan.
